Climate Smart Communities Initiative (CSCI)

The Initiative

CSCI facilitates the development of climate resilience plans and projects across the country by offering a competitive grant making program, a Registry of Adaptation Practitioners, training in best practices, and more. The initiative is committed to assisting the communities that are facing the most significant challenges, and advancing nature based solutions.

  • Community leaders and climate practitioners

If you are interested in grants or other resources available through CSCI, please visit the initiative’s website.

  • Philanthropic funders and grantmaking agencies

Those interested in collaborating or co-funding opportunities within the initiative, please reach out to us.

CSCI is managed by a consortium of partners, including CRF, EcoAdapt, Fernleaf, Geos Institute, ICF, and the Environment, Equity and Justice Center at NRDC, working closely with the Climate Program Office of NOAA. The initiative is made possible by funding under the Inflation Reduction Act as part of the federal government’s approach to the climate crisis.
