Our Approach

  • Respect for science and nature. CRF relies on the best available information, including local and Indigenous knowledge, about our changing climate and the natural systems on which we all depend.
  • Commitment to community. CRF seeks the meaningful engagement of all stakeholders, with a commitment to processes centered on equity and inclusion, and an emphasis on outcomes that benefit people and nature.
  • Humility, with an emphasis on collaboration. CRF builds relationships between individual practitioners, private funders, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies, and leverages the skills and resources needed to advance effective approaches.
  • Concern for the most vulnerable. CRF prioritizes the needs of the frontline communities, urban and rural, that all too often have been overlooked or underserved in the past.
  • A sense of hope and possibility. CRF believes that climate change adaptation and resilience strategies offer an opportunity to re-shape our relationship with the natural world, building a climate resilient society that is filled with healthy communities, vibrant ecosystems, and thriving economies.
